Meet the team
Our experienced and dedicated team of professionals on site is supported by our innovative core team, pictured above.
While each of the core team members have their own particular responsibilities and skills they are all familiar with your project and aim to be accessible and approachable at all times.
At the earliest opportunity, we will invite you to our offices to welcome you as a new member of the Ecohouse family, to meet the team in person and join us for a good cup of coffee.
Robin van der Bij
Director
Founder of Ecohouse Robin is a civil engineer who developed an obsession with sustainable building while designing his own home with wife Nicky. The quintessential Dutchman at heart, he loves cheese, windmills and wooden shoes! He has been surfing since he was a teenager (“yes, you can surf in Holland!”), is a keen snowboarder and is looking to spend more time sailing out on the Carrick Roads now he has moved to Flushing. But as a new Dad is finding spare time a thing of the past!
Richard Cull
Site Manager
Richard joined Ecohouse in January 2010 as part of the Unlocking Cornish Potential Scheme. Professionally he is highly organised, confident and effective, and hit the ground running with Ecohouse. Young, enthusiastic and friendly, Richard is someone you can happily take home to meet your Mum.
Mark Jackson
Site Manager
Mark joined us in April 2011 as things started to get busy around Ecohouse HQ with three new builds underway and a eco retrofit starting. A keen surfer, we’ll be keeping him away from the Gwithian project!
Nicky van der Bij
Marketing
Married to Robin, Nicky joined the business in 2006. She got her hands dirty, as well as plenty of construction experience, building their first energy efficient home back in 2005. Now, with her background in journalism, Nicky is keen to see the name Ecohouse at the forefront of the minds of anyone interested in building their own home in Cornwall.
Louise Ball
Office Administrator
Louise joined the team in early summer 2010 principally to keep our finances in order. Skilled as she is at handling her own pack of boistrous German Shepherds, she easily manages to keep even the wilder members of the Ecohouse team under control.
Dayle Adamson
Design Manager
With an almost obsessive approach to timber frame detailing, Dayle has become an integral member of the team since he joined us in January. And while he may look like he could do damage with a hammer, he is surprisingly creative when it comes to selecting interior styling and finishes!
Aaron Grigg
Carpenter
More than just a carpenter, Aaron joined us in January, with years of experience not just in building timber frames but in designing them too. Not only that, but he was a fisherman in a previous life too, and also turns his hand to a spot of boat building when the mood takes him.
Bruno
Pack Leader
To be found skulking under the desk of whoever looks to be the softer touch when it comes to offering treats (usually Richard!). A happy member of the team, he is always grateful to those who’ll take a break to give him a run out around the cliffs of Wheal Kitty.
