Ecohouse grows to meet demands

Ecohouse Ltd, a design and build company based in St Agnes, specialises in bespoke energy efficient homes.The company has seen a marked increase in enquiries in recent months and, as a result, is now working on several more interesting new projects.
To help manage the demand, Ecohouse welcomes a new team member through the Unlocking Cornish Potential graduate scheme.Simon Longworth-Riggs joins the team with 10 years of construction knowledge and contacts.
As technical designer, Simon will help develop the sustainable specification of materials to maintain the high quality of design the company is known for.Ecohouse director Robin van der Bij said: “We are delighted to welcome Simon to the team. He has a particular aptitude for technical specification and, essential for us, a passion for effective sustainable design.”
Simon is a graduate in architecture and has already completed his Royal Institute of British Architecture Part II exams. Now, with help from the UCP scheme, Ecohouse is looking to support him through the final RIBA Part III qualification which will result in him becoming a fully professionally qualified architect.Simon said: “I’m really pleased to be given the opportunity to work in such a dynamic young company.

Meanwhile as the company continues to grow in response to demand for sustainable homes, Ecohouse is looking to take on another team member, again taking advantage of the Unlocking Cornish Potential graduate scheme.In order to develop the turnkey build package side of the business, Ecohouse is now looking to recruit a site manager to help run contracts already in place.
The new team member will ideally have experience in construction project management, quantity surveying and buying, and have a genuine interest in sustainable building.
