The sky’s the limit for eco entrepreneur

The high flying founder of specialist design and build company Ecohouse is setting his sights even higher for a charity fundraiser next month.
Robin van der Bij, 38, who set up his business creating one-off super energy efficient homes six years ago, will be skydiving over the Cornish countryside on September 21 to raise money for a selection of Cornish charities.
Robin said: “Raising money for local charities and contributing to good causes is part of the founding ethos for Ecohouse.
“Establishing a new business and growing it to the extent we have over the past five years means we have not been able to put this into practice as much as we would have liked.
“I would like to think that this skydive will kick start a programme of fundraising by Ecohouse which will involve all our intrepid team members.”
Organised by Live Events South West, the main aim for this year’s charity skydive is to raise over £3000 for the Cornwall Community Foundation, who successfully supports Cornish causes, making everyday life better for all in the local community.
This year a large proportion of the funds raised will also be shared with Cornwall Befriending Scheme and Carefree Fostering Independence Cornwall to help them continue their great work here in Cornwall.
Robin added: “I’m really looking forward to the skydive as it’s something I’ve always wanted to do. However, that’s not to say I won’t be a bit nervous as I’m hanging out of the plane door ready to jump!
“The charities I’m supporting are all great causes so if you are able to make a donation there are many people in Cornwall, not just myself, who would be very grateful.”
Robin has set up a web page for gift donations. If you would like to sponsor him and make a difference to so many good Cornish causes then please visit http://www.justgiving.com/Robin-Van-der-Bij.
