Carnmenellis
This self-builder moved to Cornwall to start a whole new life. He bought an area of land with a derelict farmhouse and numerous outbuildings. Ecohouse has helped him obtain planning permission for five eco-holiday letting units in addition to that for a new dwelling, garage and office. The owner managed the project himself with Ecohouse providing regular quality control site inspections. In addition to the building work, the site has been planted with 100s of trees, and boasts its own borehole for water, wind turbine for power and a reed bed sewage system. The landscaping includes a natural swimming pool and a firepit. The letting units are largely now completed, with just one still being fitted out.
