You may own a site you would like to develop or are considering buying one, you may have a budget and wonder how far it will stretch when building your own sustainable home, or you may have specific questions on how to make your new home energy efficient.
We are always happy to discuss building plans and ideas with you and, where appropriate, may be able to visit you on site.
We like to have a clear picture of what you would like to achieve with your project: whether, for example, you want to be completely energy self-sufficient, or if sourcing materials locally is your priority, or whether you have a particular construction type in mind.
It is helpful for us to know more about your lifestyle at this stage. For example the minimum bedrooms you need, number of living areas and their uses, whether you would require a garage and/or other outdoor space.
It is also helpful if you have a budget in mind to guide us.
We recommend compiling a scrapbook of cuttings of architectural styles and finishes that appeal to you. This helps us to understand your preferences at an early stage of our relationship. As well as homebuilding magazines, try the internet, architectural books and weekend newspaper supplements.
